Dr. Don Rellins Jr.

Dr. Rellins graduated from Marshall High School in Fairfax County, Virginia in 1975.  He went to college at Virginia Commonwealth University in 1975 double majoring in Biology and Chemistry with minors in English and Religious Studies.  In 1978 he was accepted to the Medical College of Virginia School of Dentistry.  Following that, in 1982 he graduated with a Doctorate of Dental Surgery from the Medical College of Virginia and Bachelor of Science in Biology from Virginia Commonwealth University.  In 1984, he became a member of the Academy of General Dentistry, which is an organization dedicated to excellence in dentistry through continuing education.  He also served on the Rockingham Memorial Hospital Dental Trauma Staff from 2006 until 2019 when he became Honorary Staff for Sentara RMH.

Dr. Rellins is a certified advanced open water scuba diver as well as an instrument rated private pilot with more than 1200 hours total flying time.  He and his wife, Shannon, currently own a farm in Broadway and in his spare time, he enjoys flying his Piper Lance PA32 R-300.  He and Shannon raised broiler chickens for Tyson foods from 1996 through to 2006 and currently rent out the poultry houses and farm land.  Dr. Rellins is a musician and played rock and roll from the 60's through the 80's and beyond.  He played with the bands; Rain Child 1971-1975, Four Out of Five Dentists 1978-1992, Coolin’ Out from 1984-1995 and EZGO 2003 to the present.  As a member of these bands he has opened for national acts Blue Oyster Cult, Gloria Estefan and the Miami Sound Machine and the Bangles.
